MAKE THE PAIN YOUR FRIEND
Watch the News and you will find that a lot of people around the globe are going through grave ordeals. And I wondered if it's possible to overcome the overwhelming pain that comes with such predicaments, and if it is, why then do many of us find it so hard to move past the anguish we have endured for so long? This is what I think:
A lot of us suffer hurt longer than necessary because we don't want to accept it and deal with it. We want the easy way out, so we deny what we're going through. But you don't run away from pain when it comes knocking. No matter how hideous and scary its face may be, you open the door, then embrace and nurture it; not run away from it, or try to fight it off. Living in denial, or being aggressive with hurt will only prolong its stay - with or without your consent. So, save yourself the trouble and accept the anguish - be gentle, reason with it, understand it - you know, make the pain your friend, and it will gradually become nicer to you in return.
The sooner you embrace your pain - be it physical or emotional - and try to find a subtle but effective way of dealing with it, the faster it packs its luggage and logs out of your life.
