CRUDE MENTALITY
If it doesn't favour you, it's a tragedy, but when it doesn't favour the woman, you call it tradition - this is contemptuous and shameless; a crude mentality which must stop!!! It's such a disaster that in this day and age, a lot of men still opress the same women they claim they care about. And when confronted, they say it's tradition. But who made that tradition, wasn't it a man like you? Why can't you change, or at least amend it when it appears to be faulty? Why? I know why - self!
We men can be disgustingly self-centred... When daddy is sick, we leave him to our sisters to take care of. When he dies, we remember we had a father, and y'all already know why - for the inheritance. The men in the family suddenly paint their way back into the family picture, with the guts to tell their sisters they have no right to their own father's wealth because they're female, even though they've been ever present in daddy's life, making him smile, while the men have been nothing but pseudo, making him cry up until his departure. Isn't that just vile? It's at that moment, after he dies that men who claim to be Christians remember they're full-blooded traditionalists, quoting some jibber-jabber ancestral lyrics that cause women to be treated like outcasts when their fathers or husbands die. The widow even has it worse; her husband's people claim rights to his properties, leaving she and her kids to suffer alone, thus intensifying her mourning - appalling wickedness! How these conscienceless men fail to discern and accept that such practices are totally ungodly, acutely unchristian, profoundly inhumane and irritatingly selfish is just beyond my comprehension. Wait! I guess I just clarified the enigma for myself - they're conscienceless! Yes, their consciences have been replaced with astounding greed. That's why they can confidently say women have no right to inheritance, but shamelessly remember them when it comes to family donations. Such cynical men never wish for anything that can increase her, instead the little she has, they want to reduce - foul! But they proudly say it's tradition. Look, Christianity and corrupt traditional practices don't mix, yet love for self makes us try to brew them whenever it's convenient. Here's the funny twist: many of such men who claim women have no right to inheritance would surprise you when given the opportunity to write a will; they wouldn't will everything they own to their sons alone, they'll make sure their daughters have an equitable share in whatever they leave behind. They think they're smart, but I say they're direly diabolical.
Women aren't items you acquire. The difference in genitalia is just that, nothing more. She isn't any less of a human being because she doesn't have a ding-dong and ping-pongs in-between her legs. Treating her like she doesn't deserve anything good is such an unadulterated crude barbaric caveman behaviour, and the more you try to use tradition to justify this unjustifiable act, the more obtuse you present yourself.
Permit me to say you're literally insane if you think your maleness alone makes you any more superior than a female. Without women, this world would be incomplete; heck! this world wouldn't even exist, and our creator knew this. He knew life would be meaningless for man, thus he created woman, loving her equally. Additionally, Jesus never took anything from anyone. His life and ministry was all about giving and service; he was benevolent and altruistic towards all He came across - male and female alike. That's what we should emulate. Now take a cue from God; if you didn't know before, know now that we're all equal and whatever is good for you is also good for her.
Stop treating women like second-class citizens of planet earth. It's not a crime to be a woman; it's a blessing and an honour. But it's a crime before the eyes of God to treat her like an item, or like a lesser being, a pleb. Don't invite God's wrath on yourself by handling His masterpiece with contempt. Or don't you know she's His masterpiece, equally fearfully and wonderfully made? Be very careful! Don't be irrational to curse yourself by yourself. #MenGoAndThink!
P.S
I understand why tradition allows the man to take all or most of his father's property when his father dies. But how do you justify a scenario where the son is wealthy and his sisters are struggling, yet he insists his sisters shouldn't be given anything, and uses tradition to back it up? And how do you justify a woman being bullied by her in-laws after her husband dies? So you see, at this point, it's no longer about the reasons tradition made some things so, it's about greed being covered up with tradition.
