A LITMUS TEST OF TRUE LOVE

Love seems perfect most at times till it gets tested, isn't it? Your partner may seem flawless most of the time, of course till they face a test, abi?...

Love is a verb; it's all about action. When you're in love, you're supposed to be one with your better half. You should be able to feel their highs and lows; without being told anything, you should be able to detect when they're happy and when they're not; you should also be able to tell if they aren't fine especially when they swear that they are, because true love should make you telepathic. This is a simple litmus test that gauges the potency of love.

If you can't sense when your loved one is going through emotional distress, you've failed the love test. And even if you sense an anomaly but fail to do something about it, you've failed as well. What's the essence of saying you love someone if your souls aren't synchronized? Hear me: altruism, benevolence, and empathy are all palpable qualities of love. If you ignore the pain of those you claim you love especially because you're petty and pedantic enough to let them suffer alone just because you cynically feel if they don't come to you first, it implies they don't need your help, then maybe you don't truly love them. Maybe you're just using them to pass time. The truth is, there are times when people go through predicaments they can't freely relay even to their most trusted ones, for several reasons. It's left for those who care about them to go on an emotional expedition, digging through the hearts of such afflicted souls to discover the malady plaguing them. Leaving them all by their lonesome just because they aren't audible about their pain will definitely do nothing but add to their hurt.

True love is a verb, if you can't do certain things to prove your love, then your so-called love is just that - so-called - and as useless as the oath of a fraudster. Now go through your transcript and re-evaluate yourself, or rather, re-evaluate your love. Have you been failing? Then retake the test or drop the course and pick a new one, because maybe the old course isn't meant for you. So, find one you're compatible with, and can clearly understand. But if you feel you aren't ready at all, drop out of the school till you're ready to put in the work to pass all tests. Toodles.
